If you’ve been part of ICF for a while, you may remember: in the past, the term ICF Church was often used.
Today, we always speak of the ICF Movement or the local churches (e.g., “ICF Zurich”). Only in the international context (Leo & Susanna) is “ICF Church” still used.
Our official domain, however, is icf.church.
When the new “.church” domains became available, we chose to buy this instead of icf.com. Since then, many of our websites run under icf.church, for example:
icf.church/zuerich
icf.church/conference
icf.church/hamburg
etc.

A shared domain comes with many benefits:
Unified appearance (similar to Hillsong, Kingdomcity, etc.)
Increased domain trust → better ranking potential in Google
SEO effect: content supports each other across sites

In the past, a .de or .ch domain sometimes ranked better in local search. Today, this is much less relevant. Google now focuses more on content and categories than on domain endings.

You should definitely keep it:
For your email addresses
For marketing (as a shortlink domain)
Example: icf.ch/musical → redirect → icf.church/zuerich/musical
Must include the city name (no abbreviations)
Structure: icf-<cityname>
Ending: ideally local (.ch, .de, .at, …)
“.church” or “.com” can be active, but only redirect – not as the main domain.

If you are not yet using icf.church/youricf for your website, we will transition this together with you.
Don’t worry: We will carefully set up proper redirects using specialized tools, ensuring no SEO rankings are lost, and no errors occur
